Ingredients

  • 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup tomato sauce (preferably marinara sauce)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • ½ yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • ½ red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • ¼ cup black olives, sliced (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)

Process

  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, allow it to heat up for 20 minutes.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface, stretching it to your desired thickness. Place it on a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  3. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a border around the edges for the crust.
  4. Top the pizza with mozzarella cheese, spreading it evenly across the sauce.
  5. Arrange the vegetables: add the bell peppers, red onion, mushrooms, and spinach over the cheese.
  6. Season with oregano, salt, and black pepper. Drizzle olive oil on top of the vegetables.
  7. Bake the pizza for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and slice. Serve hot and enjoy your colorful veggie pizza!
